Antique American Clocks
Ansonia "Virginia", ca. 1904.
A second example of the Virginia.
bronze and silver facing, and again not repainted but in the original finish.
And again, the black iron case has been re-lacquered.
Here the dial has porcelain cartouche numbering and ornamental gold hands.
The pallets are steel.
I cannot get this one
to run, the strike is frozen and the time spring is either unattached or broken.
The 8-day Ansonia movement is signed, and there
is a cover over the back door.
A beautiful example nonetheless.
$1200-$1800.
