Antique American Clocks
Austrian Dachluhr timepiece,
The 36.5-inch case is veneered in rosewood with
satin wood strips along the edges, typical of Biedermeier period Austrian clocks.
The front piece is not hinged but inserts
in a slot at the top of the case and sits on the base.
It looks like all the glasses are modern.
The 8-day, weight-driven,
time-only movement is old but not signed or stamped; the old pendulum stick bears a serial number, but I did not find a number on
the movement, making me suspicious that the movement (or the pendulum)  is a replacement.
The back plate of the movement
has keyholes for mounting on four posts, but here it is modified(?) to mount on an old bayonet-style bracket screw-mount.
porcelain dial shows numerous hairline cracks.
There is a small brass weight and the clock is running, with a lot of wobble
in the likely modern pendulum bob.
I'm not sure what to make of this attractive clock, but I'll bet you are.
