Antique American Clocks
Foster S. Campos "David Wood shelf clock" 1978.
A 34.5-inch walnut case with a beautiful,
banded inlay around the hood and base, a banded border around the lower door with a burl panel holding an eagle with a shield.
Elaborately carved fretwork at the top, with small brass finials.
The cabinet work is spectacular.
The painted metal dial
is signed at the top, with fancy hands; the 8-day, passing strike movement is running, driven by a signed weight.
The case and
door are stamped '2', with the date stamped in as well.
Schmitt-Horan sold a near
identical example
in 2020 for $3400.
$2500-$3500.
