Antique American Clocks
English 8-bell fusee bracket clock.
This 25-inch mahogany-cased clock shows the
retailer on the dial as "T.P. Bedilion · Pittsburgh"; Bedilion was a jeweler in Pittsburgh PA around 1890.
ornaments on this clock show some wear consistent with a turn-of-the-century date of manufacture, but the case is pristine and I would
not have guessed it was that old.
There is slight wear on the silvered dial and chime setting dials.
The heavy brass triple-fusee
movement is unsigned with a patterned back plate, a large heavy wire gong for the hour strike, and eight nested bells on which Westminster
chimes plays on the quarter-hours; there is also a setting for a second chime that I don't recognize.

There is a stamp on the top of the gong mount "J&F.D".
The clock is running and striking as expected;
there are working keys for both doors.
Certainly the nicest bracket clock I have offered this year.
