Antique American Clocks
English round fusee timepiece, ca. 1900.
A 14.5-inch diameter clock in an old oak case with a repainted
dial for the Guildford Arms in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Guildford Arms
has been a Free House (pub) since 1896, and prior to
that was a hotel.
Whether this clock ever kept the time there is unknown, but it is a distinguished name in Edinburgh.
The dial glass is modern, the 8-day fusee movement is unsigned; it is running without issue.
