Antique American Clocks
Forestville Mfg. Co. ripple-front steeple, 1842-1849.
A 19.5-inch ripple-front steeple from J.C.
Good rosewood veneer on the sides, a less-common ripple style on the front.
Both glasses are old, the tablet lithograph
showing the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.
The painted dial is old but I don't see evidence of a signature; the
hands are correct/original.
The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed J.C. Brown, Forestville CT and is running and striking
as required.
The label is protected behind plastic film.
A nice example.
