A 36-inch walnut case with an older
finish, possibly original.
The door glass is proper and likely original as well; the unsigned paper dial shows lots of wear,
the hands original with a repair to the minute hand.
The two outside drop finials are improper replacements.
a label on the back.
The signed Gilbert 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the hour and half-hour on
an Owen cathedral gong.
This model is not especially uncommon but has been popular and brings relatively high prices; Schmitt's
sold one in 2018 for $175; Horton's sold a calendar version in 2019 for $880.
