A 35-inch long white marble face with an 18-inch
The marble has been cleaned except where the ink numbering, lettering and lines are placed, hence the gray color on the
uncleaned portions of the dial.
The trefoil hands are original, the glass tablet correct.
The 8-day, time-only movement
is signed and driven by a no. 17 iron weight; the pendulum bob is damascened and there is a tie-down on the original weight shield
So how do you get at this clock to adjust the pendulum up or down, or restart it if it stops?
You sure don't want
to have to remove the marble face, which must weigh 40 lb.
Howard put a lever on the bottom that swings back and forth; flip
it to the other side and it hits the pendulum rod and knocks it into motion.
To adjust the speed there is a screw handle on
top of the clock that moves the pendulum assembly up or down, just like moving the bob up or down with the rating nut.

Schmitt-Horan sold one last October for $1300; Harris sold one in 2019 for $1600.
