Antique American Clocks
Chauncey Ives pillar & scroll, 1824-1830.
One of six Ives brothers, his most famous
brother being Joseph.
All six made clocks.
This pillar & scroll is notable for its originality - with the possible
exception of the dial glass, which may be a very old replacement, and the pendulum bob.
The 28-inch mahogany case has been cleaned
and is without repairs or losses that I can see; this includes the feet and scroll-top.
The tablet has been touched up very
well, the dial board is clean and simple.
The 30-hour wood movement will run for a few minutes, I didn't push it.
is a good label inside, and three brass urns on wooden posts.
A very nice example.
