Antique American Clocks
Chauncey Jerome miniature fusee column & cornice, 1844-1850.
Miniature Jerome Empire clocks are
not uncommon, but I can find no sales records for a miniature with a fusee movement.
The rosewood case is 18.25 inches tall
with the original grain-painted and gilded columns; the dial glass is original, the cut glass tablet is a replacement.
The painted
metal dial has been touched up and the numerals strengthened, the hands are modified from another clock.
The 8-day, fusee movement
is signed and running, striking on a wire gong.
There is a yellowed label inside.
