Jeromes' & Darrow miniature Empire alarm, 1828-1833.
A most unusual clock for which I can find
no sales records.
It stands 27 inches tall on paw feet in the front that are fastened by large screws and rounded feet in back
that are clearly recent replacements.
I thought the feet might be later additions, but I posted it on CogCounters Facebook page
and several Cogs countered that contention.
The flame mahogany veneer is beautiful and likely original, with the possible exception
of that on the columns.
There are a couple of chips on the cornice corners.
All three glasses are original, but the tablets
appear to be replacements as I don't think they are Darrow's style.
The dial is clean and well preserved, the hands original;
the hour hand alarm indicator has been resoldered onto the hand.
There are no weights or pendulum bob with this clock, but I
hung a 30-hour weight and tested the wooden 30-hour time-and-alarm movement; it wants to run but can't quite do it.
test the alarm; you will need a smaller weight to fit in the weight chute (I can provide one).
It strikes on two bells on top.
An acceptable label inside.

The Story of Chauncey Jerome, NAWCC Bulletin Supplement
, Spring, 1986, page 41.
With no sales records I am guessing as to a likely price.
$500-$1200.
