Antique American Clocks
Nicholas Muller "Dove", Casting No. 85, 1865-1876.
A surprisingly small Muller casting, 9.25 inches
tall, featuring a dove at the top feeding its young over a grape vine.
The finish on the case is completely gone, leaving no
traces that I can see.
The 2.5-inch dial is paper with some wear, the hands are replacements.
The 30-hour time-and-strike,
lever movement is unsigned, probably made by the Terry Clock Co.
It is running and striking the bell on the back.
Rath describes this model in her book,
Nicholas Muller Horologist Extraordinaire
on page 104, but I can find no sales records.
