Antique American Clocks
Waltham Clock Co. miniature banjo, ca. 1930.
Just 21 inches long from the top of the eagle
finial to the bottom tip, in a mahogany case.
Some of the back edge trim has been broken off on the right side of the box.
Two painted glasses, the tablet touched up to replace losses.
Marketed by J.E. Caldwell, a jewelry store in Philadelphia, as
noted on the dial; there is a screw-on bezel with a convex beveled glass.
You wind the lever movement from the thumb screw in
the box and set the time by pulling down and turning the winding rod.
The clock is running, time-only, 8 days I assume.
Schmitt-Horan sold one in April for $550.
