Antique American Clocks
Welch, Spring & Co. "Italian No. 3, V.P." ca. 1878.
A 14-inch case in rosewood veneer with a full
glass door.
This is the smallest model in this line, sometimes called a miniature.
The veneer has some repairs and missing
pieces along the base; the door glass appears to be original, as is the dirty and chipped metal dial.
The hands are slight mismatches;
the pendulum is a replacement.
The 30-hour time-and-strike movement is signed and is running and striking on the brass bell.
Someone put green flocking inside the case.
