Antique American Clocks
Riley Whiting carved column & splat shelf clock, 1828-1835.
A 30-inch case with original
carved half-columns, crest, and pineapple finials, and most notably, an original tablet which has been touched up and rebacked.
The dial glass is old but a replacement, and not yet puttied in.
The wooden dial is nicely decorated but may -possibly- be a
substitution.
I did not test the wooden 30-hour movement as it lacks a pendulum rod (an easy fix).
There is a good label
inside and two old iron weights.
A nice example, especially for the unique tablet.
