Description
Atkins Clock Co. “Round Top No. 2”, 1859-1879. Made in several sizes, this one is just under 17 inches tall in myrtle. Yes, myrtle; the catalog from 1873 shows that this (and other models) were made in myrtle. It looks like walnut, and I think a semi-transparent stain has been applied. Both glasses are old, the dial has been repainted and antiqued by Linda Rivard. The hands are appropriate. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking a wire gong; there is a label behind plastic. $100-$200.
