Description
Chauncey Boardman fusee steeple, 1847-1850. A 20-inch steeple veneered in figured mahogany, with two old/original glasses and well-preserved decalcomania polychrome tablet. The contoured metal dial holds the original paint with replacement hands; the signed 30-hour double-fusee movement is running and striking on a wire gong. The label shows a retailer overpaste, in this case Daniel Pratt & Sons in Boston. The overpaste label is included in an envelope. $100-$200.
