Description
English tavern clock, ca. 1900. A 48-inch solid oak case with an old, clean finish; this is a higher-end tavern clock with two thick beveled glasses and a large, heavy brass plate movement. The dial was likely repainted and has London painted below the winding arbor, and the hands are likely original. The 8-day, time-only movement is unmarked with a large brass weight that is compounded on two brass pulleys and runs down the right side; the pendulum is a wooden rod with a round pendulum bob. It is running without difficulty. There is no label. This is easily the nicest tavern clock I have had to offer. $600–$1200.
