Description

E Ingraham & Co. “Oriental”, 1874-1880. A 17.5-inch case veneered in rosewood in great condition with a clean, polished finish. I see one veneer repair to the rounded trim at the top right. The bulbs at the base are painted gold, with a coat of varnish, the dial glass is modern. The paper dial is very old, possibly original, as are the hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong. There are remnants of a label on the back; Ingraham key included. Not a common model, with the most recent sale at Schmidt’s Antiques last fall for $425. $300–$500.
