Description
Seth Thomas 30-hour OG, ca. 1850. A 26-inch case in birdseye maple with mahogany trim – just beautiful – I don’t want to hear anyone saying, “It’s just an OG”. These were the workhorse clocks of the late 1800’s. Both glasses are period and likely original; the tablet is a “View of Cairo Junction of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers”, as printed on the backside of the image. The contoured metal dial has been touched up extensively and could stand to be replaced. The hands are correct, the 30-hour time-and-strike brass movement is signed “Plymouth Hollow”, is clean as a whistle, and is running, driven by two iron weights. There is a decent paper label inside with a Plymouth Hollow location. A beautiful classic. $100-$200.
