Description

Waterbury Clock Co. “Cairo”, ca. 1914. An absolutely gorgeous mahogany case, 42.5 inches tip to tip, with a perfect finish. The door glass is old and possibly original; the dial is replaced paper and has darkened; the hands are replacements. The signed 8-day, time-only movement is running nicely. The pendulum and bob are correct, there is Waterbury beat scale at the bottom, and there is an illegible label inside on the bottom. There is a remnant of a label on the back. One sale on LiveAuctioneers in 2014 and four additional sales on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, none more recent than 2014. As pretty as any Waterbury clock. $450–$750.
