Description
Waterbury Clock Co. “French”, ca. 1870. This clock is shown on page 765 of Ly’s Waterbury Clocks & Watches, Vol 2. It differs slightly from the catalog illustration shown, but the two figures on top are the same. The metal case is 19 inches tall with a nicely renewed bronze finish; there are a few spots where it has been touched up with paint. The dial glass is a replacement, the dial is replaced paper with slight staining, the hands are likely replacements. The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a small bell with a nice sound. There are remnants of a label inside. No sales records for this model that I can find. $150–$300.
