Description

Waterbury Clock Co. “Perth”, ca. 1893. A beautiful 42-inch walnut case with Waterbury’s “Cabinet finish”. Amazingly, the unusual finials on top are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, page 196) and they look original. The door glass is a twentieth century replacement. The paper dial has some spotting and wear (upper left) and has the Waterbury logo. The proper filled Maltese hands are likely original. The 8-day, time-only movement is signed and running without a hitch; the pendulum stick and bob are Waterbury issue. A partial label on the back. No sales records on LiveAuctioneers; the most recent sale on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide was in 2013. A rare model, and one I have not seen before. $450–$750.
