Description
E.N. Welch small cottage, ca. 1872. This clock is 11.25 inches tall; the case is softwood with walnut or mahogany veneer around the base and door frame. The case sides and top were probably painted. The glass is original with a good transfer at the bottom. The painted dial is original with some flaking and fading. The small movement is a 30-hour timepiece and alarm, striking on the large iron bell. It is running without issue. A good green label inside. Ly did not list this clock in his book on Welch clocks, but similar examples are found in an 1872 catalog. $25-$50.
